Noor Ali Chagani

This work is an excellent example of Chagani’s masterful ability to push a material to its limits, in order to create a unique visual effect and generate meaning. A swathe of miniature terracotta and brass bricks hangs like torn canvas, challenging both the two-dimensionality of traditional miniature painting as well as the common association of bricks with something rigid and solid like a wall.
